The spirit of Tacenda

Tacenda is built around one simple idea: one question, one answer, one day at a time. This is a space for genuine reflection — not performance, not venting, not noise. Your answers shape what everyone sees, even if no one sees yours specifically. That shared responsibility is what makes this work.

We ask that you bring the same honesty and care to your answer that you'd bring to a quiet conversation with someone you trust.

What we encourage

  • Honest, reflective answers. Say what you actually think, not what sounds good.
  • Personal experience and perspective. Your specific view is more valuable than a generic one.
  • Thoughtfulness, even when brief. A short answer can be a good answer.

What's not allowed

To keep Tacenda a space worth returning to, the following are not permitted:

  • Hate speech or slurs — content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other aspects of identity.
  • Threats or incitement to violence — against any person or group.
  • Harassment or bullying — even without direct social features, harmful content can still cause harm.
  • Sexually explicit content.
  • Spam, gibberish, or automated submissions — including bot-generated responses or meaningless input.
  • Attempts to manipulate AI output — prompt injection, adversarial inputs, or deliberate gaming of the curation system.
  • Personal information — your own or anyone else's (names, contact details, addresses, etc.).
  • Illegal content — anything that promotes or facilitates unlawful activity.

How moderation works

Your responses are screened before they're processed by AI. Our AI-curated highlights and patterns are also reviewed on an ongoing basis.

If something slips through, you can flag it. Reports are reviewed by the Tacenda team. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, suspend an account, or terminate it. We take these decisions seriously and apply them consistently — but Tacenda reserves the right to act at our sole discretion when needed.

How to report

If you see a highlight or pattern that seems harmful or off, tap the report button on any highlight card. Tell us briefly what the issue is, and we'll take it from there. We review every report and act on those that violate these guidelines.

Appeals

If you have questions about an enforcement action on your account, reach out to us at [email protected]. We're a small team and we'll do our best to respond promptly.

These guidelines exist because Tacenda works when people treat it with care. Thank you for being part of that.
